Powell Construction strives to be different in everything that we do. We are about the experience, building relationships as well as building homes. We believe that the home building experience should be enjoyable, not just for you, but for us as well and it's our team that makes this process enjoyable. Our team of carpenters knows they are working on your home, not just another job. Throughout the building process, you will find that we continually earn the trust you put in us from day one.

What do you do? Anything nobody else wants to do. Every now and then I point to the sign out front and remind everyone it's still my business.

Have you taken any classes or seminars related to what you do? Degree from WMU in Applied Science, Green Built training, Financial/Accounting Seminars

A little fun fact about me: I like to ride motorcycles long distances for pleasure or for charity. I am extremely competitive. I enjoy being outdoors and camping. I used to be a school teacher.

My hobbies, family and favorites: My favorite hobby is what my wife calls "puttering". I just like any project that keeps me busy. My favorite movies are Young Frankenstein and Life of Brian, and most any other comedy.


Heather Jasper
Name: Heather Jasper

Job Title: Designer

What do you do? I help you through the selection process. I ask lots of questions and help make your vision come to life.

Have you taken any classes or seminars related to what you do? Yes, I have a BAA in Design from Central Michigan University. (I was there when Central beat MSU in football twice.) I am trained in Green Building techniques. Also, certified in Kitchen and Bath design.

A little fun fact about me: I'm a life-time volunteer at the Berrien County Youth Fair. I don't like snakes.

My hobbies, family and favorites: I married my High School sweetheart. We have a son and a spoiled rotten dog. I'm the queen of projects and am always busy both inside and outside (basically, I drive my husband crazy). My favorite food would be a Filet Mignon dinner grilled by my father-in-law; topped off with anything chocolate. I enjoy stand-up comedy.


Mark Weir

What do you do? I schedule sub-contractors and make sure projects are completed on time and that we have the materials we need.

Have you taken any classes or seminars related to what you do? E.B.B.A. Green Builders. Tile preparation and installation. I've attended Job Safety seminars.

A little fun fact about me: I'm a member of the Berrien County Riders and I enjoy raising money for local charities. I love to sing.

My hobbies, family and favorites: I've been married for 21 years. I like to bowl, ride my Harley, pizza, comedies and anything that I can order for my motorcycle.


Chris Flock
Name: Chris Flock

Job Title: Estimator/Scheduler

What do you do? I bid the jobs. I also make elevation, engineering and floorplan changes and corrections to blueprints. I work with field managers and subs to schedule work and order materials. Not to mention I put up with girls in the office.

Have you taken any classes or seminars related to what you do? Yes, I graduated from WMU with a BS Construction Engineering & Project Management degree. I am trained in Green Building and am a skilled welder.

A little fun fact about me: My family owned a brewery out east and my brother and I married sisters.

My hobbies, family and favorites: I love to fish and try to take at least 2 fishing trips a year. I'm married to my beautiful wife who is a graphic designer and photographer (which makes me cringe since I don't like having my picture taken). I look great in pink and can't get enough of it. I like any food and my favorite movie is Oh Brother Where Art Thou.

A little fun fact about me: I like to eat. I have eaten 12 egg omelets the size of a pizza in one sitting!
